Body brushes are a must have for keeping skin soft and smooth, and exfoliating fully. A chunky wooden handle helps you keep a good grip and really get down to business!
Body brushing is a dry exfoliating technique that can be energizing!
Use this body brush alone or even over the top of an application of body oil, though dry is our preferred method.
Pressure should be firm but not painful- if it hurts you are applying too much pressure!- it will only take a few strokes to get a hang it. The bristles are pretty firm and are meant to slough off dead skin.
The brush should feel irritating and scratchy, but not painful.
Starting at your feet and working upwards to the knee, using long strokes, repeating this on each side a few times, remember to get the backs of the legs as well!
At your knees use sweeping circles around the kneecap and then continue as before from knee to the inner thighs and buttocks.
Move on to your side body and chest and towards your heart, leaving your stomach, you will come back for that.
Begin brushing the backs of your hands using slow sweeping strokes up to your shoulders.
From your shoulders brush down and towards your heart and then counterclockwise over your heart and/or around your breasts.
Return to your stomach and work in clockwise circles starting at your lower right side, moving all the way over your belly button and back around.
The back is the hardest part, but if you can, starting at the shoulders and sweeping down towards the heart, also from the tailbone up the spine towards the heart.
After you have finished jump into the shower and rinse off all that dead skin and toxins that you just leached out of your skin!
